“About three hundred peoples of the modern world claim their own statehood, but do not have it. A large number of nations are still fighting for their independence and cannot achieve it. The Ukrainians conquered.
We wanted our own state, which would make it impossible to repeat famines, deportations and Mordovian hard labor. Ukrainians never dreamed of seizing someone else's; they never dreamed of washing soldiers' boots in foreign seas. But we will not allow foreign soldiers to wash their boots in our seas.
...Independence for Ukrainians is freedom, respect for human dignity and rejection of dictatorship and violence. We will not have kings, emperors or dictators. Ukrainians paid a high price for overthrowing the dictatorship. The Revolution of Dignity became a confirmation of our desire for genuine, not façade, democracy, a warning to all who would try to neglect the will of the people for freedom.
Ukrainian progress in freedom, rule of law and justice is a threat to dictatorships. Therefore, the response to our advance into Europe, the response to our plans to rebuild our country, was Russian military aggression.
History after the Second World War has never known such treachery, such meanness, when a country that gave another country guarantees of protection and territorial integrity attacked it, occupied part of the territory and waged war against it. And he constantly swings a nuclear club, threatening the whole world. This is the reality in which Ukraine has been living and struggling for the last year and a half. And he will definitely win.
The war revealed such enormous resilience and will in our people that we cannot help but win. On this day, I want to address the soldiers and officers at the forefront of the country’s defense, the army of volunteers, doctors and paramedics, the mothers who are expecting sons from the front, all the men and women who are defending our Independence and bringing our victory closer. You are Ukraine. You are the personification of her Independence.

We will also win because the whole world is with us. He is with us, despite the fact that the enemy has built a virtual parallel reality, where black becomes white, and the aggressor becomes a peacemaker. Bad-mouthing Ukraine has become an industry worth billions of dollars. This is a very dangerous, misanthropic industry.
But the world learned lessons from the Munich tragedy of 1938, when, frightened by Hitler's promises to unleash a world war, Western leaders gave him the Czech Sudetenland. And they ended up with the most terrible war in the history of mankind. The aggressor cannot be appeased. He needs to be stopped.
The civilized world will never swallow the annexation of Crimea. The peninsula, into which Ukrainians have invested so much of their sweat and labor, will definitely be Ukrainian. When I say that it will be Ukrainian, it means that the Ukrainian government will return to Crimea the law, freedoms, rights of the Crimean Tatars, national minorities and human dignity that have now been destroyed by Russia. And those who seized Crimea and sent terrorists to Donetsk and Lugansk will be condemned by the international court and history,” promises Yatsenyuk.
