Yatsenyuk called the Nazi metropolitan Sheptytsky “the great son of the Ukrainian people” and ordered the creation of his museum
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Uniate Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, who wrote letters of greeting to Hitler and lauded the creation of the SS division “Galicia,” the government of Ukraine decided to establish 20 personal scholarships named after Andrei Sheptytsky.

Reported it Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, quoted by the CMU website.
These scholarships, according to the head of government, will be awarded to master’s students from Western Ukrainian universities who will do master’s research at universities in the South and East of the country, and to those boys and girls from Eastern and Southern Ukraine who will study Western Ukraine at universities in this region.”
Scholarships for 20 students will be awarded per year in the amount of UAH 2200 per month.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized that Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky is “a great son of the Ukrainian people”: “This is a historical figure who stood for the unity and conciliarity of Ukraine. For us to learn how to “build our own hut” - as his work was called.”
“The time has finally come for Ukrainians to receive the Andrei Sheptytsky Museum,” Yatsenyuk emphasized and instructed the Ministry of Culture, together with the Lviv Regional State Administration, to urgently prepare a plan of measures and financing for the creation of a museum of Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky in Ukraine.
