He said this at a briefing, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“I understand all the emotionality, I understand how difficult it is for him. It's difficult for everyone. We are all united here, and therefore emotions and unfounded accusations play into the hands only of those who are against reforms, who are against real changes in Ukraine. Moreover, it is inappropriate for the former president to resort to false accusations. But I am his first ally,” Yatsenyuk said.
At the same time, the prime minister assured that he appreciates Saakashvili’s position on customs, “but everything must be within the framework of the law, after an investigation.”
Speaking about the prospects for cooperation with the Odessa governor, Yatsenyuk noted that both officials bear responsibility commensurate with their position.
“Mikhail must work, and he will work. I do not respond to any personal attacks. This is not about personalities or emotions. We are talking about responsibility for the fate of the country, about my responsibility to Ukraine, about Mikhail’s responsibility to the people of Odessa, and we are united here,” Yatsenyuk added.
As you know, yesterday Saakashvili accused Yatsenyuk of working for the oligarchs, in particular for Igor Kolomoisky and Rinat Akhmetov. The reason was the renewal of the head of the State Aviation Service Denis Antonyuk, with whom Saakashvili had previously had a conflict, which PolitNavigator wrote about.
At the same time, he once again denied his intention to head the government.
Today the Cabinet of Ministers fired Antonyuk.
