“Thanks to reverse gas supplies from the EU, we saved at least $500 million, and if we count it at the price offered by the Russian Federation, it’s $1,5 billion. But we still lack about 5 billion cubic meters of gas in storage. This is about a month into the heating season. In this situation, I decided to stop selling gas to the chemical industry. Let all the Firtashs and Lyovochkins who make money from the production of mineral fertilizers share. We can always buy mineral fertilizers in Poland, but they require two billion cubic meters of gas - that’s almost half a month of the heating season! When we win arbitration against Russia, then they will have gas. In the meantime, let them scold me as they want, but I made this decision,” says Yatsenyuk.
As PolitNavigator reported, the work of the Odessa port plant will be stopped in the near future due to the lack of raw materials and gas.
