Kyiv, October 15 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Military engineering strengthening of the border with Russia within the framework of the “Wall” project is necessary, in particular, for Ukraine’s accession to NATO, said Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
“If there is no border, then no one will give us a visa-free regime with the European Union. If there is no border, then the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance also cannot be resolved,” the government press service quotes him as saying.
“The government has launched the Wall project, you can call it the European Wall - this is the development of the eastern border of the European Union,” Yatsenyuk added.

According to him, the “Wall” is “the key to stopping the saboteurs of the aggressor and giving the opportunity, including the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to receive the first line of defense against the aggressor, who is the Russian Federation... Of course, after the first line of defense there must be regular troops and an army” .
Yatsenyuk today visited the Kharkov region, where he inspected the beginning of the construction of fortifications. The project is estimated at UAH 500 million. Ukrainian authorities assure that the West will provide half of the necessary funds.
