Yatsenyuk to Americans: “President Putin is a tough guy”
New York, September 24 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk believes that Ukraine will restrain Russia, and the Russian president wants to restore the Soviet Union.

“We must regain control of the border between Russia and Ukraine. Only then can we begin a real peace process,” he said, speaking in New York at the Council on Foreign Relations, a private American organization in the field of international relations.
“Putin will never give up until we stand up and contain Russia,” the prime minister asserts.
“Never underestimate your opponent. President Putin is a tough guy,” he said, answering questions from meeting participants.
In his opinion, the Russian President set himself the goal of restoring the Soviet Union.
“Putin believes that he is trying to restore the Soviet Union. He wants to reconsider the results of World War II,” Yatsenyuk said, as quoted on the Twitter account of the Council on Foreign Relations.
As PolitNavigator reported, Arseniy Yatsenyuk is scheduled to meet with business circles in New York and also take part in a session of the UN General Assembly.
