Yatsenyuk: We swallowed Georgia - we got Ukraine, let's swallow Ukraine - no one knows where it will end
Kyiv, April 10 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Western world is providing Ukraine with unprecedented support, and it should not be stopped, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at the security forum in Kyiv.

“We are confident that our Western partners, who have provided unprecedented political support to Ukraine, will continue to strictly adhere to the principles of implementation of international law,” he said.
“We swallowed Georgia - we got Ukraine, let’s swallow Ukraine - no one knows where it will end. It will be Afghanistan 1979, Prague, Budapest - what will it be?” – Yatsenyuk explained.
He believes that in modern conditions the only guarantor of security for states is NATO membership, but Ukraine is unlikely to be able to join the alliance.
“In 2008, Ukraine and Georgia applied to sign the map. Today in Ukraine there is a very serious increase in sentiment towards supporting the idea of Euro-Atlantic integration. But at the same time, we, as a government, understand perfectly well that with increased cooperation with the alliance, Russia will again use this card and will try again to prick Ukraine the way it does,” the official says.
“And if Ukraine expressed a desire to join the alliance, would we get consensus in the alliance? Unlikely. Therefore, we have no other choice but to build our armed forces,” Yatsenyuk added.
“The international community must find a worthy response to any aggressor who believes that with nuclear weapons and a large army it is possible to revise borders and seize countries... The time will come when Ukraine will resume control over the Ukrainian territory - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” the prime minister predicts.
He recalled Vladimir Putin’s statement that the collapse of the USSR was the largest geopolitical tragedy of the XNUMXth century.
“The biggest tragedy, Vladimir Vladimirovich, will be when the new Soviet Union appears in this century,” Yatsenyuk said.
