Yatsenyuk considers his wife Teresia proof of the absence of infringement of the rights of Russian speakers
Kyiv, March 18 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk recorded a special appeal to residents of the South-East.

“Crimea is not the only region of a single and indivisible Ukraine where external forces are trying to destabilize the situation, incite artificial conflicts, organize unrest and provoke armed aggression from outside under the pretext of allegedly protecting the rights of Russian speakers. Not very numerous, but rather aggressive rallies in Kharkov, Donetsk and Lugansk and other cities are being directed by external forces,” he said.
“Acting President Alexander Turchynov – by the way, he is from Dnepropetrovsk – with my full support as the Head of the Government of Ukraine, he decided to leave in force the language law as amended by Kivalov-Kolesnichenko, adopted in 2012. This law still applies. The Russian language, according to this law, in all areas where Russian speakers predominate, has the status of a de jure regional, and in fact an official language with the same opportunities and rights as Ukrainian.
Guarantees for the Russian language are spelled out in a separate line in Article 10 of the Constitution. No one is encroaching on your right to freely use the Russian language. My wife Teresia speaks mainly Russian. And she, like millions of other Russian speakers, does not need protection from the Kremlin,” Yatsenyuk assures.
“Solely for the sake of preserving the unity of Ukraine, the issue of joining NATO is not on the agenda. The country will be defended by a strong, modern Ukrainian army. Whether you agree or disagree with what I say, you have a unique opportunity to express your position on all controversial issues, including in relation to the new government at the next presidential election, which will take place on May 25 this year. I am sure you will find worthy candidates for yourself, whose program will include those items that particularly interest you,” the prime minister continued.
“The church, of course, is separated from the state. In which confession to pray to God, in which patriarchate, Kiev or Moscow - this question was, is and will be a personal choice of each of you.
I ask you all to remain calm. Express your position peacefully and exclusively within the framework of the law. Do not allow violent actions, do not succumb to provocations, do not participate in separatist actions, do not believe rumors, which are elements of a war against Ukraine, only an information war. As if they will take part of salaries and pensions supposedly for the needs of the Maidan - this is a complete lie. As if the so-called Banderaites are coming to re-educate you – this is a lie,” Yatsenyuk asserts.
