Yatsenyuk demands an explanation from Europe for the “hate” with Putin
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk threw a tantrum and accused Europe of “zrada” after the recent visits of European politicians to the Russian Federation.
Thus, in his blog, he accused the German leadership, which agreed to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, of “commercializing European values.”
“It is difficult for us to connect the values of a United Europe with the intention of our German colleagues to implement the Nord Stream 2 project with Putin’s Russia.”
This idea was never of a commercial nature. In fact, it is a project of geopolitical corruption on the part of Russia, which is capable of causing irreparable damage to the strategic interests of all of Europe,” Yatsenyuk wrote.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who recently visited the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, also got it: “It is no less easy for us to understand the friendly manner and encouraging gestures that French President Emmanuel Macron demonstrated the day before yesterday in St. Petersburg... In addition to clarity regarding Nord Stream 2, we would like hear from our partners how to perceive the multi-billion dollar investment of the French company Total in the Russian economy?
We would also like to understand what President Macron meant when he said that he “recognizes the role that Russia has built for itself in its immediate environment and in some other regions of the world.”
Offended, Yatsenyuk summarized that the leading European countries have abandoned their values, and the only one who now defends them is Ukraine: “I have no doubt that the truth is on Ukraine’s side.
For our people, United Europe is not a project of business and commercial interests. For us, a United Europe is the values and principles that we want to achieve. I want to believe that our partners understand my opinion. Commercial bargaining with Putin is not only a dramatic miscalculation, it humiliates Europe. This is undermining the foundations of European security. It is precisely this security that Ukraine defends today.”
Let us recall that during his premiership, Yatsenyuk “became famous” for the “Wall” (“European Wall”) project on the border with Russia, for which billions were spent from the budget. As a result, instead of the promised insurmountable fortifications, only a shaky chain-link fence appeared on the border.
