Yatsenyuk ran away from one Russian to another
Moscow - Kyiv, October 23 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The loud statement of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk that instead of the enemy Rosatom, the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant will be completed by the friendly Czech Skoda, turned out to be ideologically meaningless, writes Kommersant. The fact is that the nuclear engineering company Skoda JS is 84% owned by Gazprombank through the Russian OJSC United Machine-Building Plants.

The Ukrainian NNEGC Energoatom plans to involve the Czech Skoda in the completion of power units of the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP), Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said yesterday. In his opinion, Energoatom needs to complete the construction of units not with Russian companies, but with European ones.
The intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and Russia of 2010 provides for the construction of two KhNPP units by the Russian side with the attraction of financing.
According to Mr. Yatsenyuk, Ukraine is preparing a contract for completion with the Czech engineering company Skoda JS (specializing in nuclear engineering and equipment). But this company, which does not own the technologies for the full cycle of nuclear power plant construction, belongs to the Russian OJSC United Machine-Building Plants, 84,2% of whose shares are owned by Gazprombank-Asset Management. The main orders of Skoda JS are concentrated in Eastern Europe, 21% of revenue in 2013 came from Ukraine.
