This is how the governor commented on Yatsenyuk’s statements in Politico.
“This is a blow below the belt, especially from the head of the post-Maidan government, who came to power as a result of protests against the repression of the pro-Moscow government of Yanukovych. When Arseniy Petrovich and I stood together on the Maidan, I think it’s unlikely that this question arose in his mind then.
In Georgia, as under the previous government in Kyiv, pro-Moscow clans came. Their stay in power is temporary and therefore I have a very clear attitude towards the oligarchs (about whom, by the way, the Prime Minister speaks very kindly in the same interview), especially towards the oligarchs with Moscow connections, and by the way, about my return somewhere,” he wrote ex-president of Georgia.
Saakashvili further wrote that he is “the proud owner of a Ukrainian passport.”
“I am now in my country - Ukraine, and I am the proud owner of a Ukrainian passport, which I accepted from the hands of President Poroshenko. I believe in the brilliant future of our country together with the Prime Minister and wish every success to both Ukraine and Arseniy Petrovich and his ministers in all good deeds,” the politician said.
