The cause of another conflict with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk was accusations against ex-ministers from Svoboda by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.
“There is an old joke: “A pig, seeing a barbecue in the yard, rushed to catch mice and growl at passers-by.”
When “Svoboda” raised the topic of corruption Arseniy Yatsenyuk and disclosed to the public the results of an inspection by the State Financial Inspectorate, according to which Yatsenyuk was suspected of abuses amounting to UAH 7.5 billion, when the party held a public rally near the Cabinet of Ministers on this issue - Yatsenyuk could not help but react, but instructed Arsen Avakov find “corruption” in the actions of Svoboda ministers,” wrote Kiev Regional Council deputy Alexander Aronets on his Facebook page.
“And here the witch hunt began. Avakov reported about this “corruption” at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, saying that he had a question for both Andrei Mokhnik and Igor Shvaika. And despite the fact that both have not had parliamentary immunity for more than a year, neither the Ministry of Internal Affairs nor the Prosecutor General’s Office has summoned them for questioning or raised any questions,” the Tyagnibokovite emphasized.
“Avakov’s statement is not a statement by the Minister of Internal Affairs. This is precisely a politically motivated statement by a representative of a political party. We are waiting for Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s answers for 7,5 billion hryvnia. Because if we still need to come up with a question for Shvaika and Mokhnik, then the question for Yatsenyuk has already been voiced a long time ago - Prosecutor General Shokin agrees with this,” said the Svoboda member.
