About this in an interview with the German publication Die Welt said ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, answering the question whether the visa regime with the European Union will be canceled for Ukrainians at the EU-Ukraine summit, which will be held next week in Brussels.
“It will be cancelled. It must be cancelled. My government alone adopted 144 laws and decrees that were necessary in order to obtain the abolition of the visa regime. We have fulfilled all the conditions, and the European Commission has already recognized this. Now the floor is up to the EU. Otherwise, how should we explain this to the Ukrainian people? We fought for European values under the EU flag and sacrificed the lives of Ukrainians for it, we did everything to comply with EU regulations, and now the decision will be delayed? Stop it! Keep your promises! – Yatsenyuk demanded. “Here we again face the question of the strength of European leaders: what matters is that the EU keeps its word.”
