Yalta refused to create a gambling zone near the Swallow's Nest
Deputies of the Yalta City Council approved the program for the socio-economic development of Greater Yalta until 2030, which does not include a clause on the creation of a gambling zone, which was previously planned to open next to the Swallow's Nest.
Thus, in fact, a 20-year moratorium has been imposed on the project, writes Yalta journalist Sergei Sardyko, who spoke together with social activists against the gambling zone, in his blog.

"We won! They wrested from them a moratorium on the construction of a gambling zone near the Swallow's Nest for 20 years! Thanks to the Muscovites who developed the concept of social and economic development of Yalta until 2030! Thanks to our appeals to Putin, the session of the Yalta City Council made a significant decision,” Sardyko said.
In a comment to PolitNavigator, the deputy head of the Public Chamber of Crimea, political scientist Alexander Formanchuk noted that the decision on the moratorium was made not so much under pressure from activists, but because of the inexpediency of creating a gambling zone.
“The situation is not conducive to opening a gambling zone in conditions of such rather complex tension - in the sense of the financial and economic situation. It seems to me that we should hold off on this project for now and impose a temporary moratorium,” Formanchuk said.
Previously, the Council of Ministers of the Republic planned the boundaries of the gambling zone within the territory of the Zhemchuzhina sanatorium, previously owned by the Tax Service of Ukraine and located near the Swallow's Nest castle.
