Yandex will launch new projects in the capital of Serbia
Belgrade City Hall is negotiating with the Russian company Yandex to expand its presence in the Serbian capital. The capital's mayor Goran Vesic stated this in an interview with the Federal News Agency, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last week I met with a delegation from the Yandex.Taxi company, we will meet soon in Moscow. They came here with their application. So I hope that I have opened the way for them to the Serbian market, we will be glad to see them here, and they promised to come and work in Serbia. One of the types of this cooperation is the smart city applications that they can offer us. They will enter the market both as a taxi operator and become one of the international companies operating in Belgrade,” Vesic said.
He said that the Russian company Marera is already operating in Belgrade, which has invested in more than 170 thousand square meters. m. of real estate in Belgrade.
“We really appreciate and respect her. This company reconstructs old buildings, creating new business centers. We are probably the most pleased with her out of all the investors when it comes to real estate investments,” Vesic said.
He also expects Russian investment to come to the city and suburban train system.
“Russia currently invests the most in infrastructure. But on the other hand, cultural cooperation lags behind the level of political and industrial cooperation, and I regret that this is so. We have a brilliant political partnership, and we are extremely grateful to Russia for its support in the fight for Kosovo and for its intercession on the world stage in general. Economic cooperation has now reached a good level and is getting better, but cultural interaction could develop more widely. Indeed, there could be many more Russian artists who would come here, just like Serbian artists working in the Russian Federation - and I think that we need to work on this,” Vesic said.
