Political scientist Anatoly Oktisyuk said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert emphasized that it does not matter much to him how the Poles feel about Bandera or issues of historical memory, and “in the context of globalization, this issue is approximately in 20th place.”
“I think that over time all these issues will go away, but the problem is that the Poles are going through a similar transformation that we had in Ukraine with Svoboda. A lot of credit goes to Yanukovych and the Party of Regions, who to a certain extent nurtured this entire nationalist ideology,” said the political scientist.
“So Manafort advised him to do this,” political scientist Kirill Molchanov, who was present at the press conference, joined the conversation.
“Including,” Oktisyuk agreed. “We are reaping the fruits of what Yanukovych and Klyuyev did, who wanted to win the second elections on nationalism.”
Let us recall that the American political strategist Paul Manafort was an adviser to President Yanukovych.
