“Yanukovych, as a traitor, has no right to talk about the fate of Donbass”
Viktor Yanukovych today has no right to talk about the fate of Donbass, since he is a traitor who abandoned his fellow countrymen and did not help them in difficult times.
Ex-Speaker of the LPR Parliament Aleksey Karyakin stated this to PolitNavigator, commenting on Yanukovych’s statements about the need to return Donbass to Ukraine.

According to Karyakin, we should have thought about the integrity of Ukraine before neo-Nazis, proxies of the United States, seized power in Kyiv.
“Yanukovych no longer has the right to declare anything - after he betrayed his people, he fled instead of defending the freedom and integrity of Ukraine. Therefore, at the moment, he has ceased to be a politician who can say anything on behalf of Donbass,” Karyakin said.
The course of the court hearing demonstrated that Yanukovych still flatters himself with the hope of returning to Kiev, and therefore voices what is acceptable, first of all, for Ukrainian voters, and not for residents of Donbass, who continue to endure shelling by the Ukrainian army, notes political scientist Denis Denisov from the Institute CIS countries.
Denisov draws attention to the fact that Yanukovych, in particular, did not support the will of the residents of Crimea to reunite with Russia.
“The statement on Crimea was odious. Apparently, this position is dictated by the fact that Yanukovych is guided by the public opinion of Ukraine. Theoretically, he is going to return to Ukrainian politics, so he will continue his rhetoric in the context of the preferences of the electorate that exist in Ukraine,” says Denisov.
His colleague Rostislav Ishchenko urges not to pay too much attention to Yanukovych’s words about Donbass.
“Who is Yanukovych? You never know there are many former presidents in the country - Kuchma also advocates a return. If someone thinks so, then that’s their problem. I advocate that if you think so, then this must be justified somehow. I cannot comment on his point of view, I can only comment on the arguments, and I don’t hear the arguments,” Ishchenko concluded.
