Yanukovych refused the free lawyer imposed by the GPU
Viktor Yanukovych refused the services of the lawyer of the Free Legal Aid Center, Yuri Ryabovol, and also forbade him to take part and be present at the court hearing in the case of the loss of Crimea. The case involves 5 lawyers under contract.
The lawyer of the former President, Vitaly Serdyuk, reported this on his page on the social network Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The lawyer published a statement signed by Yanukovych and focused on the fact that “the illegal involvement of a “state lawyer” in the case is an attempt by the Court and the Prosecutor General’s Office to give the process the appearance of competition, but in reality to help quickly end the process without questioning defense witnesses, examining our evidence and ensuring passing a sentence on President Viktor Yanukovych within the prescribed period.
“According to Art. 23 of the Law of Law “On Free Legal Aid,” the appearance of lawyer Ryabovol at the Court hearing on August 16.08.2018, XNUMX will be clear evidence of this criminal scenario of the authorities,” Serdyuk said.
