Yanukovych negotiated the surrender of power already in December 2013
Former BYuT people's deputy Andrei Senchenko told today at a court hearing in Kiev in the case of treason of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych that on December 3, 2013, 3 bank KAMAZ trucks were allegedly taken out of the Mezhgorye state dacha, accompanied by the Cobra special forces and 8 10 Volkswagen minibuses with tinted windows, in which there were people armed with automatic weapons.

“A few kilometers later, at one of the intersections, the leaders of this operation told Cobra that their services were no longer needed. Then this column proceeded in an unknown direction. The fate of these KAMAZ trucks and their contents are unknown to me. On that day, I concluded for myself that the authorities were preparing for evacuation,” Senchenko said.
He said that he initiated a conversation with Alexander Yanukovych and flew to him in Donetsk. The meeting allegedly lasted all night.
“I said that I am sure that they will no longer retain power, and if they do, it will not be for long and at the cost of great blood. He assured that the president would not allow bloodshed and complained about Russian pressure. I said that they should initiate early elections and a peaceful transfer of power under certain guarantees. In my opinion, at that time Ukrainian society could still agree that Viktor Fedorovich would raise his grandchildren in Mizhhirya,” Senchenko said.
According to him, Yanukovych Jr. at first allegedly called such a scenario “fantasy,” but then again returned to the topic of transfer of power and demanded guarantees.
“In the end, he said: I don’t agree with you on everything, but I will inform the president about this. After that we had three more phone conversations. On January 16, I told him that the opportunities we talked about in Donetsk no longer exist, but there is an opportunity to leave in peace. On January 22, I said that they had approached the line beyond which a peaceful outcome was impossible. Our last conversation took place on February 14th. On this day, I learned that the snipers of the “Tiger” unit were ordered to shoot to kill the protesters if at least someone staggers in the ranks of the internal troops. I told Yanukovych: that’s all, then there’s war, and you’ll be to blame. He was already in an inadequate state and began to shout: it was you who brought the country down. We didn’t communicate anymore,” Senchenko said.
