Yanukovych always worked for Western Ukraine and put pressure on Russian business – Dobkin
President Viktor Yanukovych, when distributing budget funds, allocated much more money to the western regions, and did not like Russian business.
The former head of the Kharkov regional state administration, Mikhail Dobkin, said this in a conversation on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We told Azarov then (it was difficult for Yanukovych to say this): “Well, Nikolai Yanovich, look at how you distribute budget funds - why are you giving more to those regions that mean nothing to you politically?”... People need to be shown the result, what they voted for, what they gave 70%, 80%, 50% for Yanukovych and the Party of Regions.
He says: “This is the boss. Go talk to him. I’m against it, but this is his position”... It didn’t help. They did not understand that he would never belong there.
From the first day of his presidency, Yanukovych spoke very negatively about Russian business in Ukraine. He said that they bought so much here that there will be a time when they will control our economy.
At the same time, he was ready to do anything for American business, for European business,” said Mikhail Dobkin.
