Yanukovych was officially declared an “agent of Russia” and a traitor to the Motherland
Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych acted in the interests of the Russian Federation during his presidency.

This conclusion was reached by the investigators who are conducting criminal proceedings in the Yanukovych case, reports the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
It is reported that, according to the conclusions of investigators, Yanukovych’s activities were subordinated to the interests of the Russian Federation in matters related to national security. In particular, according to the GPU, this is evidenced by its decrees on the appointment of persons with Russian citizenship to key positions.
“Accordingly, the activities of Viktor Yanukovych are qualified under Art. 255 (creation of a criminal organization) and Art. 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine,” the message says.
It is also reported that Yanukovych’s activities are being considered in the following areas: deliberate actions to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, defense capability, state, economic and information security of Ukraine.
The Prosecutor General's Office noted that they plan to hold weekly meetings to investigate the Yanukovych case.
