The Japanese are opening the assembly of Isuzu buses in Russia instead of Ukraine
The Japanese are opening the production of Isuzu buses in Russia - in the next three years at the Ulyanovsk SimAZ it is planned to increase production to a volume of 2 thousand cars per year. Previously, such buses were assembled in Ukraine.
The Kommersant newspaper reports this, noting that the Japanese interest in the Russian Federation has come to fruition “against the backdrop of the restoration of the car market in Russia.”

We are talking about the production of small-class intercity buses on the Isuzu ELF 9.5 chassis. The start of production is scheduled for November.
“This bus was previously produced in Ukraine; Isuzu did not have a contract with manufacturers in the Russian Federation,” said the head of SimAZ, Sergei Polbin, adding that his company “essentially will replace the Ukrainian manufacturer.”
