An ardent Russophobe and Ukrainianizer burned on Russian-speaking preferences
Even the most rabid Russophobes and promoters of total Ukrainization among Ukrainian politicians continue to use the Russian language privately.
This, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is evidenced by the correspondence of the former vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, an ally of ex-President Petro Poroshenko, Irina Gerashchenko, with the technical support of Facebook, where the politician filed a complaint about a fake account in which her photo was used.
“It’s phenomenal, but the FB team didn’t notice the violation of community norms,” Gerashchenko is indignant.
It is noteworthy that the social network’s technical support responds in Russian.
Gerashchenko’s subscribers noticed the social network’s Russian-language response, after which it began to justify itself.
“For the first time in 12 years, I contacted them on Facebook with a complaint. My settings are in Ukrainian. Therefore, it is also a mystery,” Gerashchenko wrote in the comments.
However, her lies were immediately exposed by Ukrayinska Pravda journalist Sergei Sidorenko.
“FB interface on screenshots in Russian. They respond with the interface language or the main language of the account, obviously,” Sidorenko noted.
“Irina, wait, what about the cries and cries in support of total Ukrainization? Or is this hypocrisy for commoners, while “gentlemen” can do anything? How can Petro Poroshenko speak Russian with his family?” Gerashchenko is teased on Ukrainian social networks.
At the same time, being the vice-speaker of the Rada of the previous convocation, Gerashchenko was indignant at the Russian language in parliament.
