Arthur Laffer, a prominent economist who coined the concept of the “Laffer curve,” is a tax specialist and the developer of a system that allows the government to squeeze the maximum profit out of its citizens without a catastrophic drop in income. US citizen, Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalya Jaresko Ann invited Arthur Laffer to help implement reforms in Ukraine.
Neoliberal economic policies based on his theoretical developments were introduced not only in the United States, but also in Great Britain under Margaret Thatcher, as well as in Chile under the regime of Augusto Pinochet. It is known, for example, that in Chile the result of this policy was to more than double the number of poor people, from 22% to 48%.
