“You know, I have relatives there – distant ones, really. My mother’s uncle was wounded during World War II and ended up in a hospital near Moscow, and remained there after 1945. From 1939 to 1945 he fought on different fronts. I stayed, got married... Therefore, I have some kind of family ties there,” Yarosh said in an interview with Obozrevatel.
“But it so happened that I haven’t communicated with them for quite a long time. Probably since the late 1990s. I didn’t go there, and it somehow died out,” he added.
“On the other hand, there are guys with whom I served near Irkutsk in the Soviet army. Then I worked there for six months on shift, flew to the north - there are also acquaintances there, even friends. I think they are afraid of me now. They think I eat children. And so there are no contacts that would be abruptly interrupted like that.
Although it would be interesting to chat. You gave me an idea. We need to find someone. At least go on Skype and talk about how they regard me now,” the people’s deputy added.
