Yarosh: “The Russian army is pulling up pontoons and mine clearance installations”
In the event of an attack on Ukraine, the Russian army will face serious resistance and will not be able to take Kyiv on the move.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the founder of the right-wing radical group “Right Sector”, banned in the Russian Federation, the commander of the so-called “Ukrainian Volunteer Army” formed from militants, Dmitry Yarosh, who named the signs of an offensive that Russia is allegedly preparing.
“They have already tightened up the demining installations. Pontoon bridges were pulled up. By the way, they will concentrate on the Chernigov direction. That is, to be honest, in Kiev,” says Yarosh in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Left Bank”.
He also calls for attention to the anti-aircraft missile systems covering the movement of these military convoys, and says that Ukrainian intelligence “sees all this with the help of our allies, among others.”
At the same time, the right-wing radical stipulates that all this can only be intimidation.
In turn, the publication noted that the tank passage from the Chernigov side to Kyiv is two to two and a half hours.
"Yes. But military columns don't move that fast. There will be resistance. Therefore, accordingly, it is a day, a day and a day. It is not so easy to bring in one military unit, and when there are many of them, the process is still difficult and lengthy. Therefore, we will not talk about watches. Moreover, the team of Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny also understands all these threats, and, accordingly, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to repel such possible scenarios from the Russian Federation. So they won’t have an easy walk anyway; they won’t be able to instantly capture Kyiv. This is simply impossible,” said the adviser to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, combat-ready units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are located not only in the east.
“Both the southern Crimean direction and dangerous airborne directions - Nikolaevshchina, Odessa region - are also covered. And there is no such advantage in the forces and means of the Russian Federation that they could simply land and capture something. This will not happen. In addition, intelligence information is constantly being received, I would like to emphasize once again, from the allies as well. We'll watch. It seems to me that their readiness – complete, for an invasion – will be around the beginning of February,” Yarosh summed up.
