Neo-Nazi Dmitry Yarosh, as an adviser to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will help consolidate joint actions between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and neo-Nazi volunteer battalions, as well as “raise the authority” of the Commander-in-Chief.
Political scientist Alexander Bulavin stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This appointment should demonstrate that there are currently no differences between the Ukrainian armed forces and volunteer battalions. Moreover, now it is not so much the volunteer battalions that are active, but rather the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Perhaps this appointment is intended to help consolidate joint actions between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteer battalions and also raise the authority of the commander-in-chief.
Yarosh is brought closer to the commander-in-chief, since all the other battalion leaders are toxic to one degree or another. Dmitry Yarosh has been absent from the agenda for quite some time, so he, unlike them, is not perceived as an odious figure.
Perhaps, in this way, they are also trying to bring under control the nationalist battalions that operate in the Joint Forces Operation zone.
I see no other explanation for this purpose.If Avakov, with whom Yarosh has a fairly close relationship, still remained in his post, one could still look for an explanation in this. But in the current situation, this appointment should either put the battalions under control, or consolidate their activities with the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” summarized Alexander Bulavin.
