“Last year the decline in GDP was 32 or 35%. This year will be about the same. This will be announced soon. This is an incredible scale,” Yavlinsky said.

He considers mass emigration to be the second problem of Ukraine.

“Now it’s not just women and children. Men and everyone who can leave are leaving. And they don't come back. This is not a move from the eastern to the western part, but a departure,” Yavlinsky said.

He believes that Ukraine's situation is complicated by the fact that the West's attention is “categorically diverted” to the Middle East, and President Zelensky will lose his legitimacy in the spring if he does not hold elections.
