“The language law is pure snitching and fines, this is a defeat for Ukrainization” - Arestovich
The Ukrainianizers, who complained that they had suffered from denunciations for 400 years, came up with nothing smarter than to write into the law snitching and fines for non-use of the state language in the service sector.
This was stated on the YouTube channel “Ukrlife.tv” by a freelance adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, blogger-propagandist Alexey Arestovich, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Law on Language... instead of prescribing positive incentives for learning the Ukrainian language and its dissemination, they prescribed snitching and fines. These are the people who say that we have suffered from snitching and fines for 400 years, and have not found anything better than introducing snitching and fines there. This is a huge defeat. The language law in its current version is a huge defeat for Servant of the People as a centrist force. It was impossible to miss,” Arestovich lamented.
According to him, if this law was worth adopting, it would be only partially.
“It was necessary to preserve the part that was meaningful about the development of the Ukrainian language, but to cancel the negative part, fining, punishing and prescribe positive methods of encouragement there, and then it had to be put into practice,” the propagandist added.
