Language quotas have played a cruel joke on the Ukrainian language
The language quotas on TV and radio introduced after Euromaidan played a cruel joke on the Ukrainian language - many low-quality Ukrainian-language works began to be heard on air, which discredited Ukrainian creativity.
This was stated during a conference in Kyiv by Nikolai Gritsenko, a member of the board of the Musical Battalion organization, which unites artists and musicians touring in the so-called zone. ATO.
“We don’t hear high-quality Ukrainian songs at all in these Ukrainian-language quotas, for which everyone fought, on radio stations. There is a profanation in the Ukrainian language of that art, which is different, and on the air it sounds in an altered, sarcastic, humorous, foppish way with the theme of “godfathers and fat.” The image of the Ukrainian continues to be cultivated precisely in such general Russian propaganda cliches. Unfortunately, this is so,” Gritsenko complained.
