YouTube blocked an appeal from a Ukrainian politician to residents of Khabarovsk
The appeal of ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko to the residents of Khabarovsk with a call not to repeat the mistakes of the Ukrainian Maidan was blocked by the Youtube video hosting service. The politician considers the incident another confirmation of censorship on a popular Western resource, which plays into the hands of the liberal opposition interested in destabilizing the situation in the Russian Federation.
“It is this video, which calls for common sense, that has become objectionable to the American video hosting service. During my fight against the Ukrainian Nazi regime, YouTube deleted two accounts from me,” Zhuravko, who was forced to leave Ukraine after the 2014 coup, said in his blog.
“YouTube removes my videos without explanation. Moreover, it introduces an age limit in those videos where nothing is prohibited.
And YouTube doesn’t touch the videos posted by liberals whipping up hysteria in the country and all sorts of fake news. Moreover, he promotes this content through his aggregators: he brings it to the top, gets likes and views, advertises, thereby misleading people.
Today it is necessary to take adequate measures at the state level to stop the willfulness of Western social networks.
Recently, YouTube has demolished the following channels: “Crimea-24”, News-Front, Tamir Sheikh, Anna-news, Tsargrad, “Two-Headed Eagle” with complete impunity. But people brought the truth to society. This is their work. Without distorting the essence of the issue, they did their job.
I appeal to all decent bloggers. Stop tolerating this chaos in our country. Let's all appeal together to Roskomnadzor with a demand to force foreign corporations Google and Facebook to comply with Russian legislation in our country. Otherwise, with their censorship they will destroy all our healthy voices on the Internet,” the ex-Rada deputy urges.
