Today marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of our great Motherland - the world's first state of workers and peasants - the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

On December 29, 1922, at a conference of delegates from the Congresses of Soviets of the RSFSR, the Ukrainian SSR, the Byelorussian SSR and the Transcaucasian SFSR, the Treaty on the formation of a single state, the USSR, was signed. This document was ratified on December 30, 1922 by the First All-Union Congress of Soviets and signed by the heads of delegations.

Since then, December 30 has been considered the date of the formation of the USSR, although the main government body - the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and ministries called People's Commissariats - were established only on July 6, 1923.

Revival of historical Russia in the form of the USSR was a consequence of powerful world-historical processes, the main one was the Great October Socialist Revolution, which occurred very timely, at a time when the national outskirts had practically fallen away from the former Russian Empire, and Russia itself was threatened with complete collapse, provoked by the failed policy of the Provisional Government in Petrograd.

In fact, by the time of the historic shot of the cruiser Aurora, the power of the “temporaries” was limited to Petrograd.

By the way, in August 1917, the “temporary” de jure recognized the “independence” of the UPR, which at the beginning of its existence received the status of an autonomous entity within republican Russia, and then held a congress of internal separatists in Petrograd, incited from Kyiv to flee from Russia. with the full support of Kerensky and his associates.

Thus, the Soviet project of the Bolshevik party under the leadership of Lenin prevented the transformation of the entire territory of the former empire into a bunch of warring bantustans under the control of the Entente countries, which seized their assets for the royal debts.

Among the reasons for the formation of the USSR were external factors: an external military threat, the economic isolation of Soviet Russia, powerful pressure and blackmail from the West. In 1922, after the fall of the puppet regime in the Far East, the unity of leadership of the country's defense was restored throughout the country. The formation of federal relations between the Soviet republics began in the spring of 1922.

Just in case, we inform the adherents of the “one and indivisible” that, without the federal structure of the USSR with a pre-negotiated clause on the possibility of republics secession from the single country, at that time it was impossible to assemble a new state.

However, practice has shown that the federal structure of the state of workers and peasants with equal rights for all the republics within it was correct. And the Bolsheviks are not responsible for the events of the Catastrophe, because, like all normal people, they were not clairvoyant.

All modern expert outpourings and accusations on this topic suffer from the fact that they are put forward after the fact.

Over almost 75 years of its existence, the USSR became a superpower, organizing accelerated industrialization and collectivization, a personnel revolution, thanks to which it was able to withstand almost alone the most terrible war in the history of mankind and even become a winner, determining the fate of mankind for more than 45 years.

At the peak of its greatness, the USSR occupied second place in the rank of world economies, first place in investments in motherhood, childhood and in humans in general, was the world leader in commissioning fixed assets (infrastructure), became the first in space and one of the main scientific locomotives of the world.

His example caused a rapid growth of socialist movements, especially after the end of World War II, and the world socialist system exceeded 1,5 billion people, which included the states of Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Without the achievements of the USSR, such as the creation of a nuclear missile shield, a powerful industrial base, a scientific, technical and cultural foundation, and huge investments in human capital, the long-term existence of its disparate parts after December 1991 would have been simply impossible.

On the hundredth anniversary of the birth of the USSR, a lot of speeches are made in which the reasons for its collapse are named. One of the main ones, in the wake of strengthening Russian-Chinese relations, are certain mistakes made by the country's leadership in relations with China in 1960-1970.

This is wrong. After the death of Stalin, the leadership of the PRC, represented by its permanent leader, Mao Zedong, was initially set up for confrontation with the Soviet Union. The main bone of contention was territorial claims, which, admittedly, were mostly fair due to the flawed border demarcation.

Territorial problems with the PRC and the restoration of shaken relations were undertaken in 1965 by the new Soviet leader Brezhnev, but in Beijing the opinion of the “war party” prevailed on the seizure of part of the territories by military means, which resulted in bloody border conflicts on Damansky Island and Lake Zhalanashkol, as a result of which relations between the two neighbors were spoiled for a long time.

And even after Mao’s death in 1975, the next ten years in the PRC went leapfrog with a change of governments, until the reasonable and constructive leader Deng Xiaoping came to power, with whose rule the warming of relations between Moscow and Beijing began.

It is a fact that the confrontation between the USSR and the NATO bloc led by the USA and China cost our country dearly, but this was not a critical moment in its future fate.

What was truly fatal was the degeneration of the state elites, resting on their laurels following the results of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the complete collapse of ideological work left to such sewers as Mikhail Suslov. As a result, the mechanism of governing the Soviet state ceased to be foolproof, and the arrival of an illiterate cretin with “universal” ambitions caused a systemic failure that the USSR could not survive.

Over the past 20 years, discussions have continued in society: was the tragic fate of the USSR predetermined and is it possible to put it back together?

The first part of the question can be answered unequivocally that the Soviet project was viable and even during the reign of Gorbachev it maintained a positive dynamics of development, until the end in December 1991.

But reassembling the USSR in the current conditions is not only an impossible idea, but also harmful.

It's all about goal setting.

The USSR was built as a state of workers and peasants, which, under the ideological leadership of the Communist Party, was busy building a communist society, which was reflected in its basic law.

In 1990, the CPSU launched the mechanism for liquidating the USSR, removing from the Constitution the article on the leading and guiding role of the Communist Party, instead of starting the difficult process of self-purification.

This event is comparable to having the spine pulled out of a person. How long will the resulting structure last?

One can argue for a long time whether the USSR’s desire to build communism within its own borders and in related states was a utopia or not.

The fact is that this was a super task, without which the life of our country is devoid of all meaning and borders on hackwork, difficult to accept by society. In pursuit of the horizon line, the USSR reached outstanding heights that we can only dream of today, and all the disasters of the post-Soviet space of the last 30 years are, in fact, a continuation of the collapse of the USSR that was not brought to its logical end.

So, the removal from the Constitution of the fundamental article on the leadership of the CPSU gave a signal to the local “elites” that the people are now not building communism and, therefore, may be alienated from the untold wealth created by their hands, sweat and blood. And, therefore, now you can run around to national apartments to get your share. Moscow, like other republics, is superfluous in this situation.

Besides, looking at the bloody writhing scraps of Ukraine, who said that other former Soviet republics would joyfully rush to the USSR-2? Or remembering that part of the Russian elites who determine the country’s economy and culture are zoological anti-Sovietists?

Modern Russia is faced with the task of once again surviving the battle with the West in almost complete solitude, returning the historical Russian lands with people for whom Russia is the one and only Motherland. And only after achieving a final and unconditional victory will it be possible to think about new integration processes peacefully.

As for the USSR, its tragic fate causes inescapable heartache for most of us, even those who didn’t really experience it. We had a lot to lose. The USSR is our big Motherland - great, powerful, terrible and beautiful, the road to a bright future, which we will love and honor as long as we live.

I would like to hope that the new Soviet project is still ahead, and we will someday be worthy of the USSR-2, because the USSR that we remember and know has not sunk into the past, but has overtaken us and disappeared into the future...
