“It so happened that this year on May 9 the first semi-final of Eurovision 2017 will take place. But due to the cowardly and vile ban of the organizers, who completely politicized the competition, Yulia Samoilova will not be able to participate in it. Having learned about this, I sent the singer an invitation to perform in Sevastopol at a festive concert for Victory Day. And now, finally, we can officially announce that Yulia Samoilova will perform in Sevastopol on May 9!” Ovsyannikov wrote.
He also posted a scan of his invitation letter to the singer, which was sent on April 20.
Let us recall that the official reason for Samoilova’s ban on entry into Ukraine was her performances in Crimea last year.
