“Yulia is everything”: Poroshenko’s headquarters is already preparing for debates with Zelensky
Petro Poroshenko’s headquarters is confident that Yulia Tymoshenko has already “blown away” and does not pose a threat to the current president of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how he commented on today’s submission by the BPP faction in parliament of a bill on the mandatory participation of presidential candidates in television debates before the second round of the presidential election.
“It’s funny to watch their hysteria. By the way, Yulia, according to the PAP headquarters, that’s all. Otherwise, such a bill would not have been introduced. If Yulia goes to the second round with Peter, then Peter does not need debates with her. if Yulia goes out with Ze, then the debate is in Yulia’s favor. That is, debates are beneficial to them only in the Peter-Ze format,” this is how Kiev journalist, editor-in-chief of the online publication “Capital” Vyacheslav Chechilo comments on the situation.
“Today, Maria Ionova and I registered a bill on mandatory candidate debates before the second round. Voters must make an informed choice, not a Skype choice,” wrote a member of Poroshenko’s team, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko on Facebook, attaching a copy of the relevant document.
According to Gerashchenko, the BPP initiative is aimed at simulating a situation in which the current President Petro Poroshenko and the candidate from the Servant of the People party Vladimir Zelensky will advance to the second round.
“Petro Poroshenko is ready to debate with anyone who will make it to the second round. But if Ze’s character goes there, there is a premonition that the puppeteers will try to hide him from the people for three weeks (before the date of the second one there),” she wrote, by “Ze” meaning Zelensky.
