Young Banderaites brought the speaker into ecstasy with a certificate
During today’s meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, representatives of the Ukrainian nationalist “Plast” brought the “Bethlehem Fire” into the session hall of the Ukrainian parliament.
They were greeted by the Speaker of Parliament Andrei Parubiy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is symbolic that they will take this fire to the front line for the Ukrainian defenders, so that they can feel the spirit of Christmas,” Parubiy said to applause and invited the plastuns to bring the fire into the hall.
“The Bethlehem Light of Peace is an important Christmas symbol, and for 20 years the Plastuns have been distributing it to schools, churches, government institutions and to the Donbass on the front line so that it symbolically warms our soldiers,” said a representative of the Plastuns.
She also stated that back in 1988, in the underground youth newspaper “Spadshchina”, which was published in Lvov, Parubiy wrote an article about the need to revive the “Plast” organization, and also called the speaker an “honorary Plast”.
In response, Parubiy recalled that OUN-UPA leaders Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych passed through Plast.
“On behalf of the parliament, for services to the Ukrainian people, I award Plast with a diploma of honor from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Congratulations to Plast! Strongly! Beautiful! Carefully! Fast! SCOB! (greeting-cry of the Plastuns - Ed.) Glory to Ukraine!” shouted the beaming speaker.
