Kramatorsk, which borders Slavyansk, has not yet been bombed, there is enough food in the stores, and the water supply is functioning relatively well.
Nevertheless, anticipating an attack, many are choking in lines for food and medicine, taking relatives somewhere and endlessly discussing the most ridiculous gossip.
This confusion will pass, just as it passed among the residents of Slavyansk after the first few bombings. The stupefying fear will disappear, replaced by a burning desire to survive and hatred of the punishers.
The harsh everyday life of war strips away from people the patina of consumerism and philistinism acquired over decades of relatively well-fed life. Minds that were recently focused on purchasing new phone models, paying off loans, and doing tricks at work are suddenly freed from everything superficial.
And in this sudden sobering, everyone will become themselves. Many will run, drug themselves, or stubbornly try to live as before. Someone is already frantically fighting for power or trying to fill their purses. But there will be others. People in whose consciousness the dormant archetypes and spiritual bonds that live in the soul of every Russian will awaken from a long sleep. Those forces will awaken that, throughout the history of the Russian people, have allowed them to mobilize and repel the threat, to defend their Motherland.
Today's blood is atonement and repentance, retribution for decades of thoughtless and amorphous existence. New Russia is bleeding first in the crucible of purification, paving the way for other Russian lands, which for the time being are in the shackles of sleep.
Here, in Novorossiya, society is being cleansed, healed and liberated. Abstract concepts - duty, courage, fear, love and hatred - become objective reality. In the Donbass, the flawed mythology of independence is dying in agony, but images are being resurrected that organically fit into the thousand-year-old traditions of Rus'.
There is still a lot of grief and suffering ahead, a fiery path that the people of Novorossiya will have to overcome with virtually no support. Many people will pay with their lives for this awakening. But as a result, not only lands will be won, souls will be won. Here the renewed Russian world is born.
