“When a violent change of power took place in Kyiv, when the legally elected president was removed by military means, anarchy arose in Kyiv. And then the Crimeans had the opportunity to express their own opinion, take some steps, some decision. The fact that Russia provided them with this decision is absolutely natural, since, say, America provides such a right to a huge number of countries, changing regimes there and supposedly giving the people the opportunity to choose.
Each region has its own opinion about how life should be structured, and we do not have the right to impose our own vision on them. Therefore, when Russia created such an opportunity and gave the Crimeans a referendum, it turned out that 97% of the population wanted to secede from Ukraine and join Russia. This is their choice. I always respect the choice of the people,” Loza said.
He also criticized the Ukrainian authorities for blocking the supply of water through the North Crimean Canal to the peninsula.
“Why did Crimea have such an attitude towards Ukraine? Because Ukraine did not invest in Crimea, it plundered it with terrible force. Ukraine behaved towards Crimea not like a mother, but like a stepmother. Therefore, Ukrainians, of course, went to Crimea to relax, but none of the leaders of Ukraine was going to invest in this region and somehow improve life. You say that it was bad there, but under Ukraine it became good. Nothing like that - it got much worse.
Now the second point - this canal was built in Soviet times. You say that he is Ukrainian. It was a Soviet construction project and it was made precisely with the expectation that the Union would remain indestructible. Ukraine violated a long-standing agreement and blocked this channel, trying to turn Crimea into a scorched desert, to kill the Crimean people so that they would die of thirst.
Further, we ourselves understand perfectly well that when everything is pulled out from under you, everything is taken away, then you develop a general emotional state, you no longer want to be friends and be part of this country. I understand the mood of the Crimeans,” said the artist.
Loza also emphasized that Russia did not send its troops to Donbass and is not to blame for the crash of the Malaysian Boeing.
“The Ukrainian controller did not fly this plane along the trajectory it was supposed to fly, but turned it to the point where it was shot down. This is a Ukrainian dispatcher, it was not the Russians who flew the plane there. Ukraine also had Buks... Some people tell these stories, others tell others. We cannot verify them, we can only trust or not trust. If this Boeing was led to a certain place, it means they knew where it should be shot down. Ours couldn’t bring him there for one simple reason, because he was led by a Ukrainian dispatcher,” Loza concluded.
