Lawyer: It’s time for Sberbank and VTB to enter Crimea
A US court has accepted a claim from the family of one of the deceased passengers on Boeing flight MH17, which was shot down in the skies over Donbass in July 2014. American citizens turned to their justice with a lawsuit against Sberbank and VTB.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, according to the relatives of the deceased, it is these Russian banks that bear responsibility, because DPR funds were transferred through them, so they can be accused of aiding terrorism.
According to the head of the working group of the Crimean representation under the President of the Russian Federation, head of the Moscow bar association “Last Watch” Alexander Molokhov, the consideration of the case may drag on for years, because the trial on the plane crash has not yet taken place. At the same time, the lawyer expressed bewilderment that large Russian banks are still afraid to enter Crimea.
“This mobilization is total and universal, it awaits us, including in the legal sphere. I don’t understand why Sberbank has not yet entered Crimea. They will still be forced out of America, from Europe, and these unfortunates will take away these assets, and their children will not be allowed to study there, in the West. That is, you need to decide who you are, masters of culture. If someone hasn’t understood this yet, he will soon understand it,” Molokhov said on the First Sevastopol TV channel.
Previously, State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlev accused Sberbank of failure to comply with requirements Russian legislation due to refusal to work in Crimea.
