Lawyer: The number of Russians wanting to leave Kazakhstan has increased sharply
Russians will continue to leave Kazakhstan at an even higher rate and move to Russia.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Komsomolskaya Pravda was told by lawyer Yulia Lazareva, who was born in Kazakhstan, but eventually moved to Novosibirsk and is now helping Russians leave this country.
“The Russian-speaking population will leave Kazakhstan at a higher rate. Over the past few days - since the advent of the Internet in Kazakhstan - the number of calls from Russian-speaking residents of Kazakhstan has increased by 20 times. All day long, people who were not planning to move call and write to me. Now people set themselves the goal of moving, getting their children to study in Russia – not only in universities, but also in schools,” Lazareva said.
According to her, most calls come from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar and Nur-Sultan (Tselinograd).
“Russian-speaking citizens fear oppression based on their nationality: Russophobic sentiments in Kazakhstan from time to time appear on the part of certain categories of the indigenous population. They are also afraid of a repetition of the January events,” explains Lazareva.
