The lawyer told how ATO militants create lawlessness in the courts of Ukraine
The repeated promises of the Ukrainian authorities to carry out some “judicial reforms” that will bring the country closer to European standards are dust in the eyes. In fact, lawlessness continues in Ukrainian courts, verdicts are sold, and, if necessary, militants are set against the servants of Themis under the guise of indignant “ATO veterans.”
Ex-deputy, member of the High Council of Justice Valery Bondik stated this on the air of the “Without Protocol” program on the KRT television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These are not reforms, these are attempts to justify themselves to donors, sponsors, and the IMF. I don’t know who else they want to justify themselves to. Not all reformers have yet consigned to the dustbin of history. They all tried to change the façade.
Among lawyers, we already call the office of the Prosecutor General the OGPU; the NKVD and the KGB were also missing. It is not so important what it will be called, it is important what laws it will write and submit proposals.
At any court call, people come who pretend to be combatants, put on this “fishing suit”, and indicate to the judges that he is a criminal, he must be tried and imprisoned. What about the presumption of innocence?
Some judges have a concept of a price tag. Cases are heard twice a week in district courts. And the rest of the time, what do they do? They are traveling. Travel facilities are available. There are others, the system is alive and well because they exist,” Bondik said.
