President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, at one time, as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, voted for the abolition of criminal penalties for illegally crossing the state border.

The famous Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Portnov reported this on his Facebook page.
“Yesterday, law enforcement officers promised to imprison all Saakashvili’s accomplices. I can’t stand by because the investigation needs to help. Deputy Petro Poroshenko at one time voted for a law that abolished criminal liability for illegal border crossing,” Portnov wrote, citing link for a roll call vote.
