“Lawyers consider criminal cases.” Kyiv promises Zelensky prison
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky clings to power so desperately that in order to preserve and strengthen it, he violates all possible laws.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything that is happening in Ukraine today is disregard for the Verkhovna Rada regulations, disregard for the Constitution, breaking any legal framework, taking on additional powers not provided for by the Constitution - this is all the norm for the current president. Lawyers just check off the boxes to see how many criminal cases he has already dealt with. If tomorrow he ceases to be president, then it is obvious that all this will be remembered to him,” the expert said.
Bondarenko is confident that in this regard, Vladimir Zelensky will cling to his chair for a long time, and will definitely try to run for a second term.
“Therefore, the instinct of self-preservation will push Zelensky to continue his stay in power as much as possible. In principle, the same instinct drives Lukashenko, who has been sitting in his chair for 25 years because he understands that if he stops being president, he will end up behind bars. Our president is a young man, and we will prepare for the fact that he will try to sit in his chair for as long as possible,” the expert concluded.
