Yushchenko called on Zyuganov’s book about the centenary of the Revolution to be advertised in Europe
Russia should not fight to restore its rights in the European Parliamentary Assembly, but should establish direct contacts with European parliamentarians.

Deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Alexander Yushchenko announced this today in the State Duma.
“We should not wait, like the weather at sea, for the restoration of the rights of our delegation in PACE. We need to look for sensible Western politicians and work with them directly. I am sure that this will make it easier to convey to the West our position on the Middle East and South-East of Ukraine. A couple of souvenirs from the State Duma and Zyuganov’s book about the 100th anniversary of the revolution will do more than sitting in PACE for a lot of money,” Yushchenko said.
Let us recall that the Russian delegation to PACE in April 2014 was deprived of its main powers due to the events in Ukraine and the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation. In 2015, PACE twice considered the issue of restoring the Russian delegation to its rights, but the sanctions remained in force: Russia was deprived of the right to vote, as well as participation in the work of the governing bodies of the assembly and its monitoring missions to observe elections in the CE space. In response, the Russian Federation stated that it was suspending its participation in PACE activities until the end of 2015. In January 2016, the Russian delegation refused to submit an application for confirmation of credentials for 2016.
