Yushchenko: Ukrainians are among the three chosen nations of the world
The Apostle Paul wrote about the Ukrainians (Scythians) in his epistles, so they are one of God’s three chosen people (along with the Greeks and Jews).
This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv on the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Peter Yushchenko, brother of the third president of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are mentioned not only among the seventy and twelve (nations) where the apostle preached, we are mentioned by the Apostle Paul in his Epistle to the Romans: “Greek, Jew and Scythian, all are before God.”
In this fray, hands often give up, but keep in mind: these words testify that we are saved. We have no problems in the future, in eternity. This is the apostle, the leader of humanity, who said these words. He saw everything in advance. We are one of the top three nations in the world,” he said.
In fact, in the messages of St. Peter's "Scythians" are not mentioned. Probably, Peter Yushchenko had in mind the quote “Sorrow and distress to every soul of a person who does evil, firstly to the Jew, then to the Greek. On the contrary, glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, first to the Jew, then to the Greek” (Rom. 2.8-9).
Previously, Peter Yushchenko argued that ancient Greek philosophers spoke Ukrainian, and Diogenes even proposed making Ukrainian the state language in Greece.
