Today we are witnessing the collapse of European security, in particular, the world has lost the principle enshrined in the Helsinki Agreements on territorial integrity.

Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko said this today during the first Baltic-Black Sea forum “Through dialogue to trust.”
“Now we confirm that the collapse of European security is happening before our eyes. In fact, when Ukraine lost its territorial integrity and political sovereignty, and to this day we cannot find our guarantors who signed the corresponding document in 1994 (Budapest Memorandum - ed.), this suggests that we are seeing a deep revision of the Helsinki agreements in 1975, where the basic principle for all European countries was the principle of territorial integrity, which provided for the integrity of borders after the Second World War. The world has lost this principle,” Yushchenko said.
He added that the instrument of power is also now slowly disappearing from Europe’s diplomatic toolkit.
