Yushchenko complains that half of Ukrainian voters are oriented towards Moscow
Nationalist values and the cargo cult of Europe are still alien to most of the Ukrainian population.
Former President Viktor Yushchenko stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Current Time,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Up to 13 million voted for Yanukovych. This means that in Ukrainian society, of those 26 million who have the right to choose, half think, perhaps to this day, the way Yanukovych thinks. The Ukrainian language is alien to them, European integration is alien to them, they do not need democracy and freedom, they do not need decommunization. They don’t need NATO, but the Tashkent Treaty, or another pro-Moscow treaty,” Yushchenko said.
This is how he explained why he himself was not elected to a second term. Yushchenko praised himself not only for “unprecedented economic successes,” but also for the policy of Ukrainization, as well as the return to the people of “such important pages of history as the Holodomor.”
