Kyiv, January 26 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) - “The Production Association “Southern Machine-Building Plant” named after A. M. Makarov” (Yuzhmash) stopped its work until March 2, 2015. Dnepropetrovsk media reported this.

The reason for the forced measure was the difficult situation at the plant caused by the lack of government orders. In addition, the company is experiencing a shortage of components. Wage arrears reached 80 million hryvnia. On January 21, a mass strike took place at Yuzhmash.
"Southern Machine-Building Plant" is a leading Ukrainian enterprise in the rocket and space industry. Various vehicles are also produced here - from tractors to trolleybuses.
In the past, the company's staff numbered about 50 thousand people; at the moment, only a fifth of them remain. "Yuzhmash" is one of the largest enterprises in Dnepropetrovsk.
