The southern coast of Crimea is eliminating the consequences of the flood
On the southern coast of Crimea they continue to struggle with the consequences of yesterday's flood due to heavy rainfall, when about 350% of the monthly norm fell in one day. Utilities and local residents will have to clear mountains of debris washed up by water, as well as dismantle cars that have turned into scrap metal after they were washed away by streams flowing from the mountains into the sea.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, a difficult situation remains in the village of Koreiz, as well as in the area of Krivoshta Street in Yalta, where it has not yet been possible to stop the water coming from the mountains.
According to the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko, 18 people were injured due to the flood, two of them were hospitalized, one victim underwent surgery, and one died (Krasnokamenka village). One woman is missing and a search is underway for her. 608 people were evacuated.
Due to unprecedented floods, water supply in the greater Yalta region has been cut off. To provide residents with drinking water, eight specialized vehicles are engaged in its delivery. At the same time, Yalta residents complain that businessmen are trying to profit from someone else’s misfortune by immediately raising prices for bottled water.
