NATO is behind the church schism in Montenegro and Ukraine
The West is trying to support Montenegrin separatism, including through the Church - just as it is being done in Ukraine.
Russian political observer and publicist Yegor Kholmogorov told PolitNavigator about this.
“In fact, we are dealing with persecution of canonical Orthodoxy in Montenegro, absolutely similar to the Philaret, Epiphany schism in Ukraine. Only the Epiphanian schism received approval from the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the Phanar, to which the Lord already made it clear that he was angry with the Phanariots for this, because the Turks soon decided that they would again turn Hagia Sophia into a mosque. That is, here is wickedness, and here is punishment, and I think – not the last.
In Montenegro, the situation is similar: in fact, the mafia leader Milo Djukanovic consistently wants to deserbize Montenegro. Despite the fact that the majority of the country’s population are Serbs in the narrowest sense of the word. Just like a significant part of the inhabitants of Ukraine, these are not only Little Russians, but Great Russians in the strictest sense,” the expert said.
He emphasized that, by analogy with Ukraine, in Montenegro there are Montenegrins - Slavs close to the Serbs, and there are Serbs in the strictest sense of the word.
“It is clear that they gravitate towards reunification with Serbia, while Montenegro, in turn, is needed by NATO precisely because it cuts off Serbia from the sea. It is clear that this Montenegrin separatism will be supported by the West in the same way as the Ukrainian one is supported. Or since we are talking about Orthodox countries - in both cases, the schism of the Orthodox Church is the most important NATO stake in this sense, it must simply be resisted,” Kholmogorov added.
Let us recall that mass protests have been taking place in Montenegro since December after the country’s parliament passed a law that threatens the confiscation of 650 Orthodox shrines of the Serbian Church in favor of “autocephalous” schismatics controlled by the ruling regime - in fact, we are talking about a repetition of the scenario implemented in Ukraine.
Montenegro separated from Serbia in 2006 under the pretext of “faster integration into the EU”, but has still not received EU membership. In 2017, against the will of the population, Montenegro was included in NATO by the pro-Western ruling elite without a referendum. Now about 30% of the population of this former part of Yugoslavia call themselves ethnic Serbs.
