The Urals will pay extra for electricity for Crimea
Moscow - Simferopol, January 28 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - In the spring, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation will select investors for the construction of a thermal power plant in Kuban to supply electricity to Crimea. In such cases, investors “recoup” costs by increasing tariffs for consumers, but Moscow does not risk raising it for Crimea, which already suffers from inflated prices for everything. Therefore, consumers in the Urals and the European part of the Russian Federation will most likely pay extra for Crimean kilowatts - 6 “Crimean” rubles per year will be added to their bills.

Let us remind you that it is not possible to build two thermal power plants in Crimea itself, as the Russian government initially wanted, due to sanctions. It turned out that due to the collapse of the domestic industry, Russian power engineers cannot produce turbines of the required power on their own, and are forced to resort to technologies from German Siemens and American GE, which are not available for Crimea.
In the case of the thermal power plant in Kuban, sanctions do not apply, since no one in the West disputes the Krasnodar Territory from Russia, although a targeted ban on the supply of equipment for a power plant being built “especially for Crimea” cannot be ruled out. Let us recall that the EU, with targeted sanctions, almost instantly destroyed the low-cost airline Dobrolet, created by Aeroflot “for Crimea,” and this happened precisely for political reasons.
However, for now, as he writes Kommersant, the subsidiaries of Western energy companies E.ON Russia and Enel Russia are interested in the “Crimean” thermal power plant project in Kuban. Although the company itself refused to comment on this topic.
